{Everyday Inspiration} courtney courtney II

courtneycourtney process

As you may remember, I sent Courtney some of my "oops" prints awhile back so she could work her textile magic. I absolutely loved what she created - you can view what she came up with in her first batch here. Since then, I have sent her a few more prints to work with & here is a little update...

{Creative Family} The Theiss Family at Classic Play...

There are two things that are always on the top of my "important to me" list -  family & creativity.  I have a particular sense of pride concerning my little family of three & the creative life that we live. So, when Jennifer Cooper (designer & founder of Ellie Bellie Kids) contacted me about an interview for her Creative Family series on Classic Play, I was both touched & excited to participate. I love the idea of interviewing other artists & creative families- I find it inspirational. Not to mention Jennifer is a mom in a creative family herself & I have been a reader of Classic Play ever since my friend Chantale told me about it. The Theiss Family interview was posted on Wednesday & here is a quick peek...

Pop on over to Classic Play for the whole interview & to read more in the Creative Family series here

Thanks again Jennifer- you made my week! It was really fun to work with you & this came at a the perfect time! Reflecting on creativity & my family was just what I needed...

Have a great weekend everyone!

{Everyday Inspiration} colors of the fair part II...

I'm a true sucker for the colors & images of a fair. I went a bit bonky with the camera at the fair Friday night & clicked away about 350 times. I always try to capture the colors & laughter as if to bottle it up & save if for a rainy day. Last night I posted the photos that the showed the true joy that the roller coaster discovery brought Sayer's way. Now it's time to share some of the colors of the fair...

What a fun night! Not only did Sayer enjoy riding the roller coaster by himself, but he rode the airplanes a number of times by himself too! I wonder what will be his favorite ride next year? I'm afraid it may be that green Galaxy 3000 ride. It caught his eye many times. Barf-o-rama....
Hope you are having a great week so far!

{Fun} the roller coaster...

Friday night was a big night. The three of us headed to the local fair to meet up with some friends. Last year we went too (met the same friends even) & had so much fun- so Sayer was really looking forward to it. I have to admit, it had been a strange day & I was really grumpy on our way there. However, all it took was for me to see how excited Sayer was once we walked through the gates & saw all of the rides. I was able to shake off the grumps pretty fast. This year, Sayer was tall enough to ride on rides that we were too tall to ride on. The little dude was ready to fly solo on the dragon roller coaster. He rode it a total of four times- each time he was in a different section- & each time his laughter & smile was infectious. The third time, he got to share his section with a little boy...

This roller coaster ride was a big deal. Sayer no longer wanted to ride on any rides with us after that. He had an extra spring in his step & was quite proud of himself. He exuded confidence. The next morning he told me that he had dreamed of the dragon roller coaster. I had dreamed about how happy he had been. It was a good night. Our little guy is sure growing up...

{Music Monday} the national & a sock puppet...

I've been a fan of the band, The National, for some time now & was really excited to see the cool video that they chose as the winner of their Portal 2 Video Contest. They had 320 videos to chose from & apparently it was a such a tough choice that they had a 1.00000000001st winner as well that you can view here - along with other submissions. My favorite is this one with out a doubt though. I'm a sucker for sock puppets & gorgeous scenery. What's your favorite?
Happy Music Monday

{Fun Finds} little girls...

I've been spending a great deal of time on Etsy lately & got a bit distracted last night as I was uploading things into the shop. It was really hutch studio's sweet room & The Measure's adorable petticoat that got me started on this vintage inspired, girly treasury.  It was a much needed break to think about who the little girl would be, that would occupy a room like that-  in her sweet petticoat & boots. Hope you had a nice weekend!

You can view the "little girls" treasury live here
